Ask A Regular: ACS Co-Host Emmanuel Lawal & Scott’s London
Dine at Scott’s with AUDIOCOMINGSOON’S
co-host Emmanuel Lawal.
You’ve probably seen Emmanuel Lawal gracing your Instagram feed, strutting the catwalk or splashed across a glossy magazine. But if you’ve been following this maverick model’s career, you know that you can now hear his voice on the regular, too.
Alongside friend and fellow model/producer Ashton Gohil, the dynamic duo have now founded AUDIOCOMINGSOON — the show. Taking the sound that they’ve honed on London and international stages alike, the DJ’s and producers have created a contemporary radio show that fuses their signature eclectic beats with compelling interviews. So far, leading creatives on the show include guests like Damson Idris, Kojey Radical, DJ Fat Tony and Juls.
A London native with one foot in fashion and the other in the music industry, Emmanuel is the kind of local tastemaker whose presence lets you know you’re in the right place. So, of course, we had to ask about his favorite restaurant in town.
As of print, London is still largely closed off to the rest of the world due to the pandemic. However, the city’s restaurant scene is open and expanding back to indoor seating, too. So as you sit and scheme about your next visit to London, take a word of advice from Emmanuel and book a table at Scott’s — as he’ll tell you, preferably outside on the terrace.
What is your favorite restaurant in London?
E: ”My favorite restaurant right now would be Scott’s, on 20 Mount Street.”
So why is it your favorite?
E: “The vibe, the service and the people watching is truly 10/10.”
How long have you been coming here? How often can we find you dining here?
E: “I’ve been coming to Scott’s for 2 or 3 years now. And how often do I dine here? Well, that depends on the weather. I prefer to eat outside in the sun, so when the sun is shining in West London I’ll usually head over.”
What's the vibe and who do you come here with?
E: “Eclectic and interesting are both words that sum up Scott’s pretty well. Although it’s grand and classy, everyone’s welcome. I usually take my work meetings there, as well as the occasional dinner with friends. But mostly, it’s just me at a table for one — with my binoculars on — people watching.”
What is your favorite dish to order?
E: “Fish & Chips — I’m a simple man.”
What do you order to drink at the bar?
E: “I’ve never sat at the bar, probably because I don’t drink alcohol. I’m a mocktail man — anything sweet and cold works just well for me.”
Do they take reservations? Or do you have to wait out the queue?
E: “They take reservations but it’s almost always busy. I’ve built somewhat of a rapport with the staff there, I like to believe I can just show up and get seated, but this isn’t always the case.”
Do you have a favorite spot you go for a nightcap after?
E: "I’m drinking it right now; fresh mint tea. Ending a meal with a hot drink is very necessary!”
